Directions from Durban and Drakensberg Park to Pula House
From Durban (approx. 600kms) & Drakensberg Park( approx 350kms)
Do yourselves a favour and get off the N3 after Estcourt and take the R74 via Winterton and Bergville and then the R712 through the Golden Gate National Park to Clarens - it's beautiful. The R711 then joins the R26 which takes you all the way to Rouxville, with the mountains of Lesotho accompanying you most of the way. At Rouxville join the N6 and Smithfield is only 35kms away. Once in Smithfield turn right at the stop sign and take the second street on the right, which is Douglas Street. Pula House is about 100m from the corner.
(For drivers experienced in travelling on gravel roads the journey can be made slightly shorter by taking the untarred section of the R701 from the R26 near Wepener. The road is normally in reasonably good condition but is not recommended for drivers with no experience of this type of road. The R701 from Wepener enters Smithfield via the N6 from Bloemfontein. On entering Smithfield turn left into Douglas Street).
